Summary
Højgård is the largest equine practice in Denmark with the primary goal to excel in all aspects of veterinary medicine and to be able to offer horses and owners the best possible options for diagnostic procedures, imaging, and treatments.
In line with their “excellence” policy, the hospital has decided to improve its diagnostic imaging capabilities by adding to their equipment new CT imagers and therefore the need of expanding their facilities.
While the new building’s exterior match the rest of the hospital’s architecture, internally, the new radiology department had to adapt to the challenges of the new equipment’s requirements. My contribution is centered on optimizing each aspect of the building in order to install and use with safety the device and to design specific custom imaging peripherals to make the diagnostic procedure more efficient and thus extending the devices’ scanning capabilities.
