Design of medical device peripherals for imaging horses with the EQUIMAGINE CT Scanner

Abstract
During a traditional CT scan, the patient needs to be perfectly still during the examination. "Equimagine" robotic imager device can perform computed tomography scans permitting some degree of movements of the patient without compromising the quality of the final image, thanks to a novel camera based motion correction system (although, the patient has to be always in the field of view of the imager). This product is designed to keep the head of a horse in place during the whole length of the scan. Thanks to a screw-driven linear actuator and an electromagnetic base, this peripheral can be used in different sized horse and be reconfigurable in an easy and quick way.
